Oh my Bella ! # Global Blog Tour Chris W Designs

 

Welcome everybody on my day for the Global Blog Tour from Chris W Designs! From November 12 to November 18, 2017, bloggers from anywhere in the world will show you every day a wonderful Chris W design. And today it’s my turn! And what is maybe more special? You can win great prizes! At the end of my post you will find all the info!

For this sewing and blogpost I could choose a free or a favorite pattern from Chris W Designs and I have to confess…Bella would be my first…

 From the beginning I knew what my fabric choice would be for the Bella! I saw many romantic Bellas, but I wanted my Bella to be cool and classy at once. A ‘cockpit motif’ (forgive me if this is not the right word-and else please let me know what the right word is) remained in my head. So on a sale in October with about 100 stalls I hunted for that fabric with pairing fabrics and accessories. And yes! This is what I found…

Welkom allemaal op mijn dag van de Global Blog Tour van Chris W Designs! Van 12 tot 18 november 2017 zullen elke dag bloggers van ergens in de wereld een prachtig design van Chris W uitgebreid tonen. En vandaag is het mijn beurt! En wat is er nog zo speciaal aan? Je kan prachtige prijzen winnen! Op het einde van mijn post (scroll, scroll) vind je alle info!

Voor dit project en blogpost mocht ik een gratis of favoriet patroon van Chris W Designs kiezen. En ik moet toegeven…Bella was mijn eerste…

Van in het begin had ik een stoffenkeuze in mijn hoofd die ik voor de Bella wilde gebruiken. Ik vond op de site van Chris W Designs heel wat romantische versies van Bella, maar ik wilde dat ze stoer en classy tegelijk werd. Een ‘hanenpoot’ stofje bleef maar in mijn hoofd hangen. Dus op het afgelopen Stoffenspektakel ging ik dus op zoek naar dit stofje en bijpassende stofjes en accessoires. En ja! Dit is wat ik vond…

As you can see in the drawing, I used the left ocher fabric for the outer and right ocher for the lining. I also filled my booty with some silver metal zippers and leatherlook piping. The long leather skirt that I recently got of a friend, I wanted to use to make the gusset. I used fusible interfacing SF 101, H 640 and Decovil light for the base.

Zoals je in de tekening ziet, gebruikte ik het linker oker stofje voor de exterior en het rechter oker stofje voor de voering/lining. Ik vulde mijn buit aan met enkele zilveren metalen ritsen en lederlook paspel. Ook de lange leren rok die ik onlangs van een kennis kreeg, wilde ik gebruiken om de gusset te maken. Ik gebruikte geweven versteviging, H640 en Decovil light om alles te verstevigen.

I love it Bella has a lot of slip pockets and zipper pockets to keep all your goodies super organised. Even a pen pocket to not lose my pen! Look here for all possibilities.

Ik vind het super dat Bella heel wat steekzakken en ritstasjes heeft om dingen weg te steken. Zelfs een apart vakje om mijn pen niet kwijt te raken! Kijk hier voor alle mogelijkheden.

What changes did I do? To give Bella a tough look, I dropped the ribbon with the bow. I did not have a metal zipper, but on Chris W’s blog I found a great tutorial by Daryl where you can make a fabric version. Click on this link to take a look. I also wanted an extra touch on my straps and for this I used the tutorial from Ellen. Use this link to take a look. (Thanks Ellen!) From the same leather as the bottom / gusset I made a tassel for my zipper.  

 

Welke aanpassingen deed ik… Om Bella een stoerdere look te geven, liet ik het lint met de strik achterwege. Een metalen rits einde had ik niet in huis, maar op de blog van Chris W vond ik een geweldige tutorial van Daryl waar je een stoffen versie kan maken. Klik op deze link om een kijkje te nemen. ( Dank je Daryl!) Ik wilde ook een extra accentje op mijn straps en hiervoor gebruikte ik de tutorial van Ellen. Gebruik de link om een kijkje te nemen. ( Dank je Ellen!) Uit hetzelfde leder als de onderkant/gusset maakte ik een ‘kwast’ om aan mijn rits te bevestigen.

Sewing and blogging about Chris W Designs’s designs was very pleasing and I was very honored to do this. Thank you! The group atmosphere was very encouraging and everything went very structured. (yes, everything was prepared very well!) Congratulations! Bella was my first, but certainly not my last project from Chris W. The instructions were written thorough on the basis of clear pictures. Step by step I was guided through the pattern. I hope you also take a look at the other participants, because they also made great bags! And now, let’s hope you win one of the amazing prizes!

Naaien voor en bloggen over een design van Chris W Designs was heel plezant en ik voelde me zeer vereerd om dit te mogen doen. De groepssfeer was zeer bemoedigend en alles verliep zeer gestructureerd. (ja, alles werd zeer zorgvuldig voorbereid!) Proficiat daarvoor! Bella was mijn eerste, maar zeker niet mijn laatste projectje van Chris. De instructies waren zeer uitgebreid uitgeschreven aan de hand van duidelijke foto’s. Stap voor stap werd ik begeleid doorheen het patroon. Ik hoop dat je zeker ook een kijkje neemt bij de andere deelnemers, want ook zij maakten pracht exemplaren! En nu maar hopen dat je één van de prachtige prijzen wint!
