A perfect match between my Akinori and #Slyfoxfabrics

When Sly Fox Fabrics was looking for promoters I didn’t hesitated to apply. I thought I would not get the chance, but it surprised me when I got my affirmation after a few weeks, WOW! 

10 days later I received my packet ( all the way to Belgium!!) and when I opened the package I became quiet and immediately afterwards I danced joyfully around the house with my soft snake sbp draped around me. I was so happy! The color palette is totally me. The Snakeskin fabric has a sienna, black, tan and ivory color scheme and these are warm colors on my pale skin. Thank you Katy, Sarah and Mary Beth!

Toen Sly Fox Fabrics promotors zocht, aarzelde ik niet om me in te schrijven. Ik dacht dat ik de kans niet zou krijgen, maar het verbaasde me toen ik na een paar weken mijn bevestiging kreeg, WOW!

10 dagen later ontving ik mijn pakket (helemaal van Amerika naar België !!) en toen ik het pakket opende werd ik stil en onmiddellijk daarna danste ik vreugdevol rond het huis met mijn zachte ‘slang single brushed poly‘ om me heen gedrapeerd. Ik was zo blij! Het kleurenpalet is helemaal mij. De Snakeskin-stof heeft een sienna, zwart, bruin en ivoor kleurenschema en dit zijn warme kleuren op mijn bleke huid. Bedankt Katy, Sarah en Mary Beth!

Now off to choose a perfect pattern for this snake sbp. First I had to decide if I wanted to sew a top or a dress. But because I received 2 yards I decided to go for a dress. I love the fact that sbp is so cool in the summer and that the back is so silky! Because I love to sew Wardrobe By Me patterns my choice went to the Akinori : it’s stylish and feminine.

The Akinori would be perfect for this Snake single brushed poly ❤ Actually it’s a Japanese inspired kimono dress and do you know what appealed to me most? That front detail with belted waist! It was perfect to hide a little tummy!

Volgende missie, een perfect patroon kiezen voor deze ‘slangen-sbp’. Eerst moest ik beslissen of ik een top of een jurk wilde naaien. Maar omdat ik 2 yards / ongeveer 2 meter ontving, besloot ik voor een jurk te gaan. Ik hou van het feit dat sbp zo koel is in de zomer en dat de achterkant zo zijdezacht is! Omdat ik graag aan de slag ga met de patronen van Wardrobe By Me, was mijn keuze snel gemaakt : de Akinori.

De Akinori zou perfect zijn voor deze Snake single brushed poly. Eigenlijk is het een Japans geïnspireerde kimono-jurk en weet jij wat mij het meest aanspreekt? Het frontdetail met riem in de taille!

The pattern describes 2.75 yards fabric, but I had enough with 2 yards, lucky me! I have to admit that cutting in this fabric gave me a bit stress but now at the end, I’m soooo happy! Let’s go to the dress!

Het patroon schrijft 2,60 m stof voor, maar ik kwam toe met 2 meter, gelukkig! Ik moet toegeven dat het knippen in dit stofje me een beetje stress gaf, maar uiteindelijk ben ik zo blij! Laten we de jurk eens bekijken!

Je ziet een duidelijke tekening van de details van de jurk. Ze kan gemaakt worden in geweven stoffen of stretch stoffen. Neem zeker een maat minder als je een stretch stof neemt.
