Creative Cap Top & Tunic

I’m so glad Suzanne from Winter Wear Designs designed this relaxed fit knit dolman style Cap Sleeve Top. With the Creative Cap Top & Tunic pattern in your possession you can create countless possibilities for every day of the week!

I made two versions but you can make lots more. Let’s take a look at all the options:

• banded or invisible binding to finish the neckline     
• classic front & classic back (red version!)
• front and back yoke options 
• gathered back option 
• v back with cross straps 
• sleeve cuffs 
• front tie (that’s what I did!)
• straight or shirttail hem 
• regular or vented side hem

Ik ben zo blij dat Suzanne van Winter Wear Designs deze losjes zittende stretch dolman stijl ‘Cap Sleeve Top’ heeft ontworpen. Met de Creative Cap Top & Tunic patroon kan je oneindig veel mogelijkheden maken ; voor iedere dag van de week eentje.

Ik maakte 2 versies, maar je kan er heel wat meer maken. Hier al de opties:

• neklijn afwerking met band of onzichtbare binding
• klassieke voor-en achterkant (rode versie)
• mogelijkheid tot inzetstuk voor en/of achteraan
• gefronste/gerimpelde achterkant mogelijk
• v uitsnijding achteraan met gekruiste bandjes
• mouwboordjes
• vooraan een strik (deed ik!)
• rechte of afgeronde zoom
• afwerking zijnaad : gewoon of met splitjes

What kind of fabric did I use and are perfect for the Creative Cap Top & Tunic?

My tied version is a poly/lycra blend and it was a great choice because I gathered the front. This way you get fine gathers.

My red polkadot is a classic front & back option and with a cheerful fabric you can make the most lovely tops. This is a poly jersey.

The pattern suggests knit fabrics with at least 30% stretch. Cotton Jersey, Cotton Lycra, Bamboo blends, Rayon Blends, Single &Double Brushed Poly, Ponte, French Terry, but be aware that different kind of fabrics can give a total other look.

Wat voor stof heb ik gebruikt en zijn perfect voor de Creative Cap Top & Tunic?

Mijn versie met strik is een poly / lycra-mix en het was een goede keuze om fijne fronsen vooraan te krijgen.

Mijn rode polkadot is een klassieke optie (voor en achter gewone versie) en met een vrolijke stof kun je de leukste tops maken. Dit is een poly jersey.

Het patroon stelt stretch stoffen met minimaal 30% stretch voor. Katoen tricot, Lycra, bamboo stoffen en zelfs ook French Terry, maar houd er rekening mee dat verschillende soorten stoffen een totaal andere look kunnen geven.

Let’s start dreaming of all the options you can make…

• the plain color block option on just the front or the back or both front and back
• the front tie option should be used with regular side seams
• pair the color block back with gathered back with a plain front or color block front
• the v back can be cut on the regular or shirttail hem 
• the optional sleeve tabs can be paired with the cuff sleeve or the plain sleeve
• you can make the scoop front with the shirttail hem back and the vented side seams… it will be so gorgeous to wear these with leggings or skinny jeans

• de color block aan de voorkant of achterkant of zowel voorkant als achterkant
• de optie met de strik kan enkel met normale zijnaden
• de color block kan met de gefronste achterkant met een effen voorkant of een color block voorkant
• de v-rug kan met een normale zoom of afgeronde zoom
• de optionele mouwboordjes kunnen worden gecombineerd met de manchetmouw of de effen mouw
• je kan de afgeronde voorkant maken met de afgeronde achterkant en de splitjes … mooi met een legging of skinny jeans
